FEARnet: Harry Potter 7 Horror-Movie Moments-The Death of Cedric Diggory
0 comments Posted by kotang at 8:40 AMDeath to Sparkles
Before the Twilight series set hormones on fire across the world, Robert Pattinson played Cedric Digory, the dreamboat jock of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Naturally he had to die. Digory's vivid and sudden death in The Goblet of Fire is the turning point for the entire series - a moment that makes the threat of the villains real and lets audiences know that no one is safe from here on out. Harry may save the day, but even he can't save everyone.Thursday, November 18, 2010

Goblet accelerated the evolution that began in Azakaban from adorable-moppet kiddie interaction into hormonal teenaged drama. Daniel Radcliffe told EW his character “is going through that puberty crap. You know: the first crush. Of course, when it’s your first crush, it’s not just a crush — you looove her.” The “her” in question was Cho Chang (Katie Leung), Ravenclaw fifth-year and braincrush for a generation of shy high school lit geeks (or anyways, for this shy high school lit geek). In Goblet, though, Cho’s quite a bit more interested in a glamour boy athlete with the glamour boy name Cedric Diggory, played by a handsome glamour boy named Robert Pattinson who you might have heard of a few million times in the last couple years.
But Goblet was an evolution in another way, too. The movie begins in a rather jaunty tone that has more in common with the Chris Columbus films than with Azkaban. By the end, though, it’s gone to a far darker place than Cuaron’s movie. ForGoblet ends (SPOILER ALERT!) with the terrifying abrupt death of Diggory, and before the audience has even quite recovered, Voldemort is reborn.

Robert Pattinson #2 on The “Top 10 ‘Harry Potter’ Hotties: The Crush Compilation”
0 comments Posted by kotang at 9:20 AM2. Robert Pattinson
We would be remiss if RPattz didn’t make it on our list, and—prepare your rotten veggies—I’ll be the first to admit that I definitely think he ismuch hotter as Cedric Diggory than he is as Edward Cullen. Plus he has one of the top five most heartbreaking deaths in “Harry Potter” history, which earns him a top spot on this list. His death scene made me cry more than Sirius Black’s, and that’s saying something.

Cedric Diggory’s Death is #2 On Top Harry Potter Moments So Far List
0 comments Posted by kotang at 7:45 AM2. “That’s my boy! That’s my SON!” (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire)
Each film in the series has its fair share of moments to tug at the heart-strings but the scene following Harry’s pivotal and deadly confrontation with Voldemort may just top them all. With all the magical elements, set pieces, plot points and crazy creatures, the Potterverse can often be mistaken for pure fiction and fantasy but the senseless death of Harry’s fellow Tri-Wizard competitor Cedric Diggory (played by Twilight hottie Robert Pattinson) is all too real. Harry’s grief after witnessing his death is understandable, especially for someone whose short life has been filled with so much pain, but nothing can quite prepare anyone for Amos Diggory’s heart-wrenching and anguished cry at the sight of his dead son.
