David and Victoria Beckham.

Her name has caused people to think that she was born at 'half past seven', but there are many, many more reactions to the name of the newest Beckham in town: Harper Seven. The Telegraph has even dedicated an entire article on Tweets about the newborn's name.

There are several theories regarding the origin of the name Harper, guesses go from novelists to Harper's Bazaar magazine, @Martin_Carr tweeted "are we assuming that's after Harper Lee? [the writer of To Kill A Mockingbird] Seems a bit literary for them..." Whereas @sarah_robbo tweeted "erm, I usually like weird celeb' baby names, but HARPER SEVEN? Literally Harpers Bizarre?!"

Some people think that the name is cute and quirky, with @ladysov tweeting, "I actually think the beckhams daughters name "harper seven" is kinda cool." Others come with societal criticism, @camillalong tweeted, "doesn't Posh know the Harper Seven were a group of climate change activists jailed for bombing a juice bar in San Francisco?"

In my opinion, Harper isn't that unusual anymore. To Kill A Mockingbird is a classic and has become a must-read for students. Seven isn't unique either, Erykah Badu and Andre 3000's son is named Seven Sirius. That people hear it as 'half past seven' is quite amusing. Let me put it this way, I'm just happy that they didn't name her Jermajesty.

Jessica Alba.

Jessica Alba is one of the most beautiful women in the world, but even beautiful women like Jessica have their insecurities. Jessica, 30, is pregnant with her second child. In the August issue of the American Allure she says that after she gave birth to her first child, daughter Honor Marie, she didn't manage to shed all the baby weight. She puts it as boldly as "I can’t ever get down to the weight I was before I had Honor. My body’s just different. The jeans just sort of zip up differently, and things hang differently. It’s a miracle what happens, but you definitely are different afterward. Unless you're Gisele [Bündchen]."

Now that she's a mother, she has found that the experience of being pregnant and giving birth has had an unexpected upside: it has helped her got more in touch with her own sexuality. Jessica says, "I was quite shy with it [sexuality]. It wasn’t something I embraced until I had my daughter. I saw how incredible and amazing it is to be a woman and to be able to create a life.” She continues, "There’s a reason why certain areas of the body are desirable — because it all leads to reproduction.There’s a science behind it all. It’s not just to sell whatever you’re selling on a billboard or a magazine or a movie.”

A downside of her pregnancy? The constant attention from press and paparazzi for her changing body. "My publicist said the other day, ‘You can’t just be going to the grocery store - you have to be ‘flaunting your baby bump,’” she says. “You’re pregnant. Your stomach is not going to be flat. You’re not ‘flaunting’ it; you’re just walking to the store or across a parking lot."

 Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren expect their baby to arrive in September. It is unknown whether they're having a boy or a girl. Although there is a possibility to big sister Honor already told the paparazzi the name and gender of the expected bundle of joy.

Ali B.

Dutch rapper Ali B. - real name Ali Bouali - and his wife Breghje Kommers have welcomed a second son into their family. Ali, 29, confirmed to Dutch celebrity tv show RTL Boulevard that Breghje had given birth to their baby boy on Monday. The couple has decided to name their new bundle of joy Omar. Little Omar joins big brother Amin, who was born in 2009.

Jewel and Ty Murray.

Monday evening Jewel and Ty Murray became proud parents of a son, Kase Townes Murray. Kase was born in Texas, at 7 p.m. CST, the little boy weighed 7lbs. 6 oz.

In a statement to People.com Jewel says, "Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world. We are overcome with happiness - it really is as great as everyone told us it would be - better even!"

Matthew Bellamy and Kate Hudson.

Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy don't know what their son's name will be yet. Luckily they'll have some more time to deliberate what their little boy's name will be. The couple is planning on moving to London, where Matthew will work on Muse's new album, but their staying in Los Angeles until Kate's recovered.

Kate, 32, gave birth naturally, even though she delivered son Ryder via a Caeserean section.

Turns out that the girl that Kate Hudson thought she was having came out with a little penis attached!

Yesterday, July 9th, Matthew Bellamy and Kate Hudson welcomed a son into their family. The healthy baby boy was born in Los Angeles. No word on his name, or how much he weighs.

Kate, 32, and Matthew, 33, started dating last year and announced their engagement in April. In January of this year the couple announced that they were expecting a baby together.

This is Matthew's first child. Kate already has a son from her marriage to Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson, 7 1/2-year old Ryder.

UPDATE: Wednesday Matthew Bellamy revealed his son's name in a tweet. Kate and Matthew have decided to name him Bingham 'Bing' Hawn Bellamy.

David and Victoria Beckham.

The girl that everyone knows and expects to become a future fashionista has finally arrived.

David and Victoria Beckham welcomed a daughter into their family this Sunday morning at 7:55 a.m. in Los Angeles at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Already parents to three boys, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 8 1/2, and Cruz, 6 1/2, the couple were surprised to be welcoming a girl. The couple announced that they were expecting a girl in March, David then said "Obviously, having three boys, you kind of expect another one, so finding out a little girl is in there is surprising, but, obviously, we are over the moon."

Baby girl Beckham weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz./3400 grams. Her name hasn't been made public yet.

UPDATE: The British DailyMail reports that the newest Beckham has been named Harper Seven. David Beckham updated his Facebook status. It reads "I am so proud and exited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham. She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7.55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx"

The DailyMail quotes a friend of the Beckhams with regards to their name choice, "Harper is an old English name, something Victoria has always liked. Seven is a very lucky number and the baby was born just after 7am, in the seventh month." Sports fans will also immediately notice that number 7 was David's jersey number  for Manchester United and the English national team.

The DailyMail also reports that little Harper was born via a Caesarean section, just like her older brothers. Also, the girl reportedly is the spitting image of mum Victoria, when she was a baby.

I think it's time for another wacky celebrity baby name post. This post is for everyone who thinks that 'different' celebrity names are a thing of the past couple of years. I'm here to tell you: it's not. Therefore I'm presenting you with the case of Jermaine Jackson, older brother of Michael Jackson and former Jackson 5 member. Currently he's been married for the fourth time, and he has seven children with three women (he has no children with his current wife). This post I'd like to focus my attention on the name of his youngest child.

Jermaine La Jaune Jackson has two sons with Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza. Jafaar Jeremiah was born in 1996, and even though I keep wanting to sing songs from Aladdin, I can imagine that you'd like the name. In 2000 their youngest son was born: Jermajesty Jermaine.

I must confess that I don't like 'royal' names at all, Jafaar and Jermajesty's cousins names Prince Michael and Prince Michael II also don't float my boat, and neither do Princess or King. However, in my opinion, Jermajesty is just wacky.  I just don't get how you can go from Your Majesty to Jermajesty. At least, that's where I assume that it comes from. However, I'd like to give the parents props for not using any random capitalisation (really, JerMajesty would have been worse), or random apostrophes (Jer'majesty, or - oh horror - Jer'Majesty..).

It could be that the 'Jer'-spelling was made up to keep the name in line with the names of his other siblings: Jermaine La Jaune Jr. (1977 - he goes by Jay), Jaimy Jackson (1980), Jeremy (1986), Jourdynn (1989 - an early example of youneek spelling) and Jafaar Jeremiah, making Autumn Joy (1978) the only one without a J-name.

I don't want to bash Jermajesty, because he looks like a supercute little fella. However, I most certainly hope that it doesn't become mainstream.

Benjamin Millepied and Natalie Portman.

It's out! Benjamin Millepied and Natalie Portman have named their baby boy Aleph. A unique name, that is for everyone that doesn't know Hebrew. Aleph, also spelled Alef, is the (name of the) first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Therefore it also has a connotation of being 'number one'.

It also has an esoteric meaning in the Judaic Kabbalah, in the theological treaty Sefer-ha-Bahir Aleph relates to the origin of the universe, saying that it's the "primordial one that contains all numbers."

Paskal Jacobsen and Doortje Kranendonk.

BLØF frontman Paskal Jacobsen and his wife Doortje have welcomed another boy into their family. Doortje gave birth to son Mats on Tuesday afternoon. The couple wanted to welcome their son in the hospital, but Mats thought otherwise and arrived so quickly that he was born at home. Luckily, all is well and Mats is a healthy little boy. 


Paskal, 37, and Doortje, 31, were married in 2008 and welcomed their first son, Sem, in January 2010. Paskal says "we are extremely happy. I'm very proud of Doortje, she did so well when in labour," he adds "and, of course, our son Sem is very proud to have a brother."

A pregnant Charlotte-Sophie, Jezebel and Johnny Heitinga.

John Heitinga is a second time father. His wife Charlotte-Sophie gave birth to a baby boy this Friday. The little guy was born at 9.45 a.m. in Madrid and has been given the name Lennox.

The couple already knew that they were having a boy and that they wanted to give birth in Madrid, even though the family know lives in England, where Johnny plays for Everton FC. Thursday Johnny tweeted "In #Madrid ready to finally meet our baby." The father-of-two is quoted by Dutch celebrity show RTL Boulevard as saying "I'm incredibly proud of my wife."

The couple are already parents to (cute as a button) 2-year old daughter Jezebel.

Ewan McGregor and Eve Mavrakis.

Ewan McGregor and his wife, Eve Mavrakis, have adopted a baby girl. The little girl was born in March and is the couple's fourth daughter. They are already parents to 15-year old Clara Mathilde, 9-year old Esther Rose and 9-year old Jamiyan. Jamiyan was born in Mongolia and was adopted by the family in 2006. No details (name, country of origin) of their baby girl were published.

Denise Richards.

Denise Richards has added to her brood. The actress, 40, has domestically adopted a baby girl.

Her rep says "Eloise Joni Richards is named after Denise's mom (Joni), and Denise and her daughters Sami and Lola chose the name Eloise. Denise and Eloise's big sisters couldn't be happier and feel incredibly blessed."

When the news of the adoption broke, Denise received many congratulations and well wishes via social media. She tweeted "Thank you all for your sweet messages. The girls and I are over the moon and so is my dad Grandpa Irv...xo"

Lola and Sam Sheen.

Denise is already a mom of two girls, Sam, 7, and Lola, 6, from her marriage to Charlie Sheen. The Sheen-Richards marriage went south very publicly and quite a gruesome custody battle over the girls took place, but the former couple seems to have patched it up for their daughters. Luckily!

Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict.

Sister, Sister star Tia Mowry and her husband Cory Hardrict are parents! Her rep has confirmed that the couple welcomed a son Tuesday Morning, June 28th, in Los Angeles. No word yet on the baby boy's name, but I can report that he weighed in at 8 lbs./3,6 kilo.

Tia's pregnancy will be featured on a new reality show Tia & Tamera, that will give us a peek into the lives of the Mowry twin sisters.

UPDATE: Tia and Cory have revealed the name of their baby boy. Their son is Cree Taylor Hardrict.

Tommy Mottola and Thalía.

Tommy Mottola and wife Thalía welcomed a son into their family Saturday, June 25th, at 11:48 a.m. This is their second child, the couple is already parents to daughter Sabrina Sakaë, 3 1/2.    The Conexion Thalía host and singer tweeted: "Thalía, Tommy, and Sabrina joyfully announce the birth of Matthew Alejandro Mottola."

Thalía, 39, tweeted later "Good night! Matteo Alejandro and Mama are going to sleep! Thank you for your love and light!!"

They managed to keep their son's name under wraps for a while, but just in time for Fathers' Day they revealed it. As the ultimate Fathers' Day gift, they named their son Michael James (sticking with the M-theme), after both their fathers.

Jennie Finch and Casey Daigle.

Retired pro softball player Jennie Finch and her husband Major League Baseball player Casey Daigle welcomed a second son into their family Sunday June 19th. Diesel Dean Daigle was born at 10.25 pm. He joins big brother Ace Shane, 5.

Diesel weighed in at 8 lbs. 2oz./3,7 kilos and was 22 1/4 inches/ 56,5 cm. long. In a statement Jennie and Casey, both 31, say "we are so completely grateful and beyond blessed."

Nina and Adrian Young.

No Doubt's drummer Adrian Young is a daddy again! His wife Nina gave birth to daughter Magnolia Renée Young on Friday, June 10th.

Adrian tweeted: "Nina & I brought our 2nd child into this world Friday, June 10. Her name is Magnolia Renée Young & we are beyond happy & excited!"

Adrian and Nina are also parents to Mason James, 9. The birth of Magnolia comes almost 13 months after the couple tragically lost a pregnancy and gave birth to a stillborn daughter.

The No Doubt family is definitely expanding! Tom Dumont and his wife Mieke have three sons: Ace Joseph, 5, Rio Atticus, 3 (this month), and Koa Thomas 3 1/2 months. Tony Kanal and his girlfriend Erin Lokitz have a 4-month old daughter: Coco Reese Lakshmi, and, of course, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have sons Kingston James McGregor,5, and Zuma Nesta Rock, 2 1/2.

Jessica Alba, Cash Warren and their daughter Honor are always subject to a lot of paparazzi attention. So I guess that it would be logical that Honor is used to them by now. However, according to some news outlets she has gotten so used to them, that she spilled the beans regarding the name of her soon-to-be baby sister!

When Jessica was pregnant with Honor, rumours were swirling around that the couple would name their child Honor Marie, and for once, the sources were right. Could this report hold the same amount of truth? According to Honor, her parents are planning on naming her sister Eva. No news on her middle name, so at least that's still a surprise!

I love names, and I always love reading about what celebrities have named their newborn child. What I love even more are wacky/crazy/weird/interesting names. Therefore I've decided to start a returning blog post, where I'll discuss a celebrity and their chosen baby name(s). From cute to downright crazy. Fasten your seatbelts, 'cause here we go!

I want to start this very first post with a celebrity baby name that really had me go "WTF??!".

American rapper Lil' Mo, real name Cynthia Loving has two daughters with first husband Al Stone. Daughter number one was born in 2002 and was given the name Heaven Love'On.

I'm not really into this kind of biblical names, but I can imagine that Heaven is quite cute on a little girl (I'm not really sure how it'll go over as an adult though) and in this case the 'what were you thinking'-name WITH apostrophe and random capitalization has middle name status. Read: no-one needs to know about it.

However, come daughter number 2 this scenario changes. Daughter number two was born in 2005 and was given the name God'Iss Love.Wow!

Besides the fact that they named their daughter Godess (now that is a name to live up to), they've also decided that misspelling it AND adding an apostrophe and random capitalization was going to make it sooooooooo much better. I get that it reads 'God is love', which in itself is a wonderful message. However, this is an actual living being and she'll need to live with this name for the rest of her life and even though her name is pronounced 'God is love' it certainly doesn't look as if it is supposed to be said like that. Furthermore, unless she's going to tell everyone her middle name to reveal the message behind her full name, people are either going to think that her parents were (a) quite the arrogant type naming their daughter 'Godess' or (b) that the parents were illiterate because they spelled it God'Iss.

Poor God'Iss. I have to give it to Lil' Mo though, it's a great stage name!

Fun fact: after her divorce from Al Stone, Lil' Mo is now married to Gospel artist Philip Bryant. Together they have a son (born in 2009). His name? Justin McKenzie Philip. That's quite a leap from Heaven and God'Iss!
