Samantha was granted her Starlight wish and met Rob in Sydney
0 comments Posted by kotang at 8:28 PMIn the media lately it has been known that Reese Witherspoon is blown away by co-star Robert Pattinson's popularity: "I think all I can do is stand back and sort of watch it happen because I'm not used to seeing somebody have so many fans". One of these fans is Starlight wish girl, Samantha.
Not only was Friday 6th May Starlight Day it was also a VERY special day for Samantha as she was granted her Starlight wish. Whilst over 3,000 people turned up to get only a glimpse of the Twilight star, Robert Pattinson, Samantha got to meet him in person. She was the envy of every young fan meeting Robert at his hotel in Sydney. She also got to go down the red carpet for the movie premiere of 'Water for Elephants'.
A Starlight wish is like a dream come true for a seriously ill young child. Sharing a special, once-in-a-lifetime wish brings a family together, and is an experience that stays with them forever. If you want to get involved and make a difference visit www.starlight.org.au/Howyoucanhelp to find out how.

Robert Pattinson and ‘Twilight’ Cast Help Support Special Olympics
0 comments Posted by kotang at 12:23 PMThe Special Olympics Southern California celebrated its 14th Annual Pier Del Sol event Sunday, with a Hawaiian Paradise theme and plenty of gourmet tastings available for the hundreds who visited the pier, all to benefit an organization that has helped some 13,000 athletes during the past 13 years.
The family-friendly fundraiser, co-sponsored by the Disney Company, Jakks Cares, Wells Fargo and Westfield Works Wonders, featured Hawaiian bands, hula dancers, an inviting Silent Auction, unlimited spins on pier rides and games and mouthwatering appetizers from restaurants across the county.
In a Silent Auction heavy on sports memorabilia and spa packages, a tribute to the “Twilight” series hysteria was the highlight. A five-foot long red wool cloak featured in the film and autographed by the film’s stars (including Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart) spurred envious gasps from young girls and bidding was intense among heavily-lobbied parents. For the losers, consolation bid items included a framed poster signed by 15 of the film’s actors.
Special Olympics Southern California has raised some $5 million since its first Pier del Sol benefit in 1997, including more than $315,000 this year. Proceeds have gone to training 13,000 southland athletes with developmental disabilities and in doing so, have “helped develop confidence, find lifelong friends and transform communities,” SOSC Chairman Patrick McClenahan said.

‘Breaking Dawn’ Vancouver B.C. Set Visit Goes For $60,100 On eBay
0 comments Posted by kotang at 5:33 AMThe bidding for the ‘Breaking Dawn’ Vancouver B.C. set visit ended today, and US$60,100.00 is going from one seriously loaded Twi-Hard’s bank account to Stand Up To Cancer, a nonprofit dedicated to ending cancer with new and innovative breakthroughs.
For that kind of money I hope they get to spend the day on set watching an amazing scene being filmed (and not the day director Bill Condon is working on panoramic scene shots), meet all the major actors on set (and not “High School Student #4″), and have all the food from the craft services tent they can handle.

The ladies over at Pattinson Online (the site that followed Robert Pattinson way before anyone ever heard of him) has started a charity project to support Robert Pattinson in his new movie, Bel Ami.
“A few months ago we were approached by Fandemonium Publishing, an imprint of Bibliolife, to create an exclusive fansite version of the novel Bel Ami by Guy de Maupassant[Note: the reason this is possible is that the book is in the public domain and copyright is no longer an issue.].
Fandemonium and Pattinson Online took Bel Ami, a classic novel, and repackaged it with photographs of Rob on the set of the film adaptation. We worked together to thoughtfully consider each photo, its placement, and the appropriate quotations from the book to bring a brand new version of this classic novel to readers and fans.
Bel Ami is a contagious read because it is written in a manner that both the casual reader and the avid reader can appreciate. We believe our version of the novel will encourage more of Rob’s fans to read the book and build anticipation for the film. While our version focuses on branding the character of Georges Duroy, our ultimate desire is to encourage Rob’s fans to support him in all of his current and future film roles, something we believe distinguishes this project from the fan material currently on the market. In working together, Pattinson Online and Fandemonium have delivered what we feel is an engaging book that respects a classic work.
The Bel Ami Pattinson Online Fan Site Edition will be available for sale on Amazon and its affiliates, as well as Barnes & Noble and several other major book retailers. You can see the book’s official landing page at http://www.belamibook.com/ .While the book itself is a big deal for us at Pattinson Online, we’re also excited to be partnering with Fandom Gives Back, a fandom-wide initiative that has raised over $140,000 for childhood cancer research through Alex’s Lemonade Stand. We recently auctioned off two copies of the book which raised $145 for FGB. You can learn more about this awesome project at the official FGB site. http://thefandomgivesback.blogspot.com/
To encourage fans to read Bel Ami, we’re also hosting a Bel Ami Book Club (http://www.robert-pattinson.co.uk/countdown/book-club/) where fans can read and discuss the book along with us. We are hoping to get this started in the next few weeks.”
