So the word is after being denied service at a New-York Apple Store two African American men are going to sue apple. I think that these two men are doing the right thing because that is pure racism and discrimination and i am tired of people using a person's clothing to determine there perception of that person. It is said that the two men were wearing baggy clothing. Also the employees of the Apple store in New York were also pushing there values by saying that the two men were not welcome in the establishment.
“And before you say I’m racially discriminating against you, let me stop you,” they claim the employee said. “I am discriminating against you. I don’t want ‘your kind’ hanging out in the store.”“Now you have to go,” Johnston and Charles (the two men that are pressing the charges)allege the other employee said. “If you want to know why, it’s because I said so. Consider me God. You have to go.”
Johnston and Charles asked to see a manager, but the head security guard of the store ignored their request. The manager eventually turned up, according to the plaintiffs, but he told the security guard to dial 911 to remove them from the store. They are seeking punitive damages due to ongoing “emotional pain, suffering, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment of life, and other non-pecuniary losses.”( http://www.eurweb.com/?p=108152)
I can't believe people are still acting like this. It is 2011 like, every time that I think that we as a people have made strides in moving away from racism and discrimination, we take four steps back and that is a shame. I hope that these two men get what they're asking for because they deserve it, cause this is just wrong and the employees should be fired.
