Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. well-known as MLK was one of the main leaders during the civil rights movement.  Due to his impact during the movement MLK has been honored with a national holiday on his behalf which will take place on his birthday. MLK was a godly man, leader and activist. Dr. King was born on January 15, 1929.
This year Martin Luther King Day will be celebrated on January 17th. Since Martin Luther King Day is near, as we honor him. Dr. King changed how the world is operated today, without his work the world would still have segregation and discrimination.
Another thing that Martin Luther King Jr. made a huge impact in was with public transportation with
1955’s Montgomery Bus Boycott.  One of the moments that defiantly standout in Dr. Kings life is when he led the March on Washington, in which he gave his most famous “I Have a Dream Speech” That speech was a movement on its own.
I feel that Martin Luther King changed lives by making the moving “I Have a Dream Speech”.  Another accomplishment that Dr. King made was when he received the Nobel Peace Prize, in which he was the youngest recipient to receive the award. He received the award due to the fact that he ended civil discrimination and Segregation without violence.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on April 4th, 1968. Who knows what the world would be if that tragic event didn’t occur, but I know that it would be wonderful if MLK lived on. Happy Martin Luther King Day and remember not to judge individuals by the color of their skin but by their character.
