Mothers of young children are often reminded that motherhood is the hardest, yet most rewarding job one can have. We often get so wrapped up in work, school, and being a mommy that they forget to take a little time of their own once in a while. However, just last week moms from all over the Tennessee Valley took a break and came out to see a piece of movie making history.
‘Water for Elephants’, starring Robert Pattinson and Christoph Waltz, filmed in and around Chattanooga from Friday, July 30 to Tuesday, August 3. Once it was confirmed that the movie was coming, fans across town, mothers included, started planning their ‘Water for Elephants’ adventures.

Firsthand accounts and pictures from moms around town started popping up all over the web. Word spread quickly that some of Hollywood’s top stars were staying in our fair city, and motherhood was not stopping many from getting a little glimpse into the life of a movie star.

While some may say that chasing a movie set around town for days is fruitless, for those that actually experienced it, it was a unique experience never to be forgotten.

Kimberley Thomasson of Chattanooga shared her thoughts on the experience, “Stay at home moms’ lives don’t have to be boring. Sometimes we have to take advantage of little opportunities for excitement. We had a wonderful, once in a lifetime experience.”

Experiences like these don’t come around every day, so when they do, take advantage of them…moms included.

‘Water for Elephants’ will be in theaters nationwide April 15, 2011.
